Litchfield National Park - to - Berry Springs, 16th June, -to - Bark Hutt Inn Caravan Park 17th June 2022.

16th June,

Left Lichfield National Park this morning after a great two days there, especially yesterday. Went back through the park up the back roads to Berry Springs. Stopped at the Springs to do some more swimming in the pools before we checked into the caravan park for the night at Berry Springs. Really disappointed when we arrived at the Park. Worst place in our six weeks of camping we have had. Got good right ups but what it sounded like is a different picture. PT said it’s just for one night and that there was nothing we could do about it. So we stayed, got my previous  blog away. Good data but that’s all it had to offer.

Stopped at Berry Springs Nature Reserve. Another great spot that brings the people in. There were three swimming holes all connected up starting at this waterfall and swimming hole. We had our swim here. It was great sitting up against the waterfall. Great massage for your neck and shoulders. Some guys were sitting in behind the falls. It was very powerful, struggling to hold yourself against it. Additionally it was tepid water which made it very attractive.

From the first pool above this, is the stream where the water flows out of the swimming hole down to the next swimming hole.

The above and below photos are taken of the middle pool which is the biggest.

Now looking over the third swimming hole. All the pools are connected one to the next over a span of approximately 200 metres. Very nice area, lots of families.

This is a small lake out at camp tonight the only nice thing about the place plus the good data. They say you can’t swim in it but don’t say why, but we know why!!🐊

Thats all for today not a lot happening now. Going out to a place tomorrow called the Bark Hut Inn which is out on the way to Kakadu National Park where we were going to go but changed our minds as it covers a lot of Kms travelling so that’s when we decided to slow down for our last  few days in the wagon.

Bark Hut Caravan Park, a Pub and Service Station.

Today we drove from Berry Springs to the Bark Hut Inn Caravan Park for a night before heading up to Darwin tomorrow. Then having two nights in the Big 4 Hidden Valley Caravan Park Darwin to spend time packing up and cleaning the motorhome to return on the 20th. Then onto our one bedroom apartment for four  days  in Darwin, staying at Magnum Service Apartments. Then guess what after that we fly home leaving Darwin early hours of Friday morning like 1.15am on 24th June, arriving into Auckland at about 12.45pm. Since arriving at the Bark Hut Inn today we just relaxed around the Park today, had a swim and that’s about it.

This is The Bark Hut Inn entrance. Check in area, shop, bar, and restaurant. Done out really nicely all in the natural wood fittings.

Also they is a service station and you can just see a little left of picture

Waiting for me to stop stuffing around taking photos. It’s time for a cold drink.

I thought that I would add a little colour from the gardens.

PT in the pool. We had a swim to cool down. The nearer we get to Darwin the hotter it gets. Although in saying that not as hot as we were having across the top of Western Australia at 35deg. Only around 30deg now in NT.

The grounds are very nice everyone all spread out plenty of room. Just pick your own spot and that’s your space. Just about ready for a cold drink now. 🍻

When we leave here tomorrow morning, on our way up to Darwin, we are booked to go on a boat trip on the Adelaide River to see the Jumping Crocodiles. So watch this space in tomorrows Blog dated the 18th .
